Black Belt Curriculum

At Majest, 1st degree Black Belt students (called 1st dan students) study the following poomsae:

• 1st dan, 0 stars – Koryo
• 1st dan, 1 star – Palgwae Il Jang
• 1st dan, 2 stars – Palgwae Yi Jang
• 1st dan, 3 stars – Palgwae Sam Jang
• 1st dan, 4 stars – Palgwae Sa Jang

To earn their 5th and 6th stars, students continue to practice the above forms and all the Taegeuk forms previously learned as a color belt. Koryo is a standard part of the Kukkiwon / World Taekwondo Federation curriculum, and is arguably the best-known and most-practiced TaeKwonDo poomsae in the world — it’s a difficult but very beautiful form.
